Why are many factory spoilers I see angled slightly backward?

Default eh

I'll look into it a little more myself, but I guess I'll just end up leaving it. I like the style I have, just never knew why it look angled wrong. I guess you're right, it does follow the parallel line of the trunk lid which is also angled slightly down.

Ah well, case closed for now.

I like the one on Dex's old GS.
Does anyone know what brand it is? Or who sells one that looks just like it?

He got it installed at the local Lexus dealer and it was sold as OEM. Apparently Lexus sources them from different mfgrs or has different designs for different years.

If I find the guy who bought his car and he wants to sell it I'll let you know

Sorry. I did not mean to send the thread on that slight tangent. I was just remarking on the color and not the slope of the spoiler. The spoiler on that bronze GS is the Veilside and not related to the discussion of the stock spoiler.

my spoiler is factory installed (no 3rd brake light in dash) and i am the one that dave described, exactly. the spoiler is wide, all the way to the edge of the trunk, and the spoiler kinds tilt up. i have seen a lot of different spoilers on the GS that look about the same too. for example, the rmm spoiler, it gets very close to the windshield

Well my Aristo straight from the factory comes with the funky gap in the front like you mentioned. It's meant to sit like that and it's always been that way. If I were you, I am not going to start messing with it. It could get expensive.

Here's some pics of my spoiler all angled up. It just doesn't look right to me still...

This one makes the gap look REALLY big

Does mine seem similar to other peoples "gaps", or do you think it's worse?

I don't know. That does not look right to me. If that's how it is, I'm glad I don't have the stock spoiler. That said the stock ones I see are not that bad.

Damn, I knew mine looked retarded.

With the degree it's angled I'm just lucky the rear of my car hasn't taken off yet!

Your spoiler is supposed to be parallel to the trunk line, not make an angle with it as your pictures clearly show. You should get it adjusted--I'd take it off and reinstall it. Take off the rear trunk cover (the clips just snap out), then you should be able to get access to it. Best of luck to you.

Here is a shot of my factory spoiler. It does tilt a little, but not as much as yours.

Quick Reply: Why are many factory spoilers I see angled slightly backward?
