Why are many factory spoilers I see angled slightly backward?

Now that's the way the factory spoiler is supposed to look--nice and parallel to the trunk with a 3" gap or so in front--but still parallel to the trunk.

It looks like yours definitely was not mounted correctly by the dealer. Bring it back and have them fix it since they installed it because if you try to fix it yourself something might go wrong and then when you bring it to the dealer they will blame it on you. If the dealer says the spoiler is supposed to look like that, look at other GSs on the lot to prove them wrong.

Problem is I have 135k miles, well out of warranty... If it's something as simple as unscrewing the 4 screws and remounting it, I think I'll tackle it on my own before shelling out more $ to the dealer.
