If I ever get rid of my current rims with the rears currently being 19 x 10 & 285/30-19 tires, I will go for 19 x 11 with 305/25 - 19 tires.

My current rims have a 45 offset and with the clearance I get using coilovers, I measured the inside lip to the spring and have over an inch of clearance. So a 19x11 rim should fit. I could also move the offset out toward the fender with a bit more shaving of the lip. I am almost certain I can get this to fit without rubbing at "any" ride height.

For those thinking the 305/25 tire profile is too low, it is almost the exact same profile as a 255/30 that I have on my wife's IS. I am interested in gaining more off the line traction, so unless I want to use drag radials on 17 inch rims, the 305/25 sounds like the best option for me.

If I ever seriously consider doing this, I will definitely post the results and the offset I chose. It's only saving up for HRE 841R's that is holding me up !

Yeah, if you're talking about max width, the GS will take a 9" wide front an 11.5" wide rear (with a Tein flex coilover and a few fender mods).

I currently run 20x9 and 20x10- As soon as the Pirelli NERO 255/30-20 + 305/25-20, my rear wheels will be widened to 20x11. The 20x11 will fit even with stock or aftermarket springs- it's just a matter of proper wheel offset.

BTW, those 21s look like wagon wheels on the GS!! To be honest, even 20s are already pushing the limit on the GS (in terms of looks)...

22s on a GS?? And I thought I was riding in a SUV!!! That must look horrible, honestly I think the shape of the GS is limited to 20" wheels, its only 189" long so 21s kinda give it the "tonka truck" look

Yeah Tonka Truck is right. You actually have to step up to get into the car.

Look at the ground clearance is higher than stock. Even with a body kit I don't think it wouldlook right.

The blue GS that Dave posted was a shot I took over 2 years ago. Taken in the Universal Studios garage.

Tires were 225/35-21

with the power on your car and also the low body kit, i think 20s are warranted

you are correct. i have seen quite a few GS with 20s and even with decent lowering, the car looks very weird without the help of body kit. it's just high. 19s are perfect if you don't have body kits, etc... otherwise, if you get 20s, plan on getting body kits too. i saw my car on 20s (lowered to no finger gap) but no body kits, it looks super high

The white GS with 21 in. Giovanna Drama's only looks weird because it isn't lowered and the wheel doesn't have a lip at all. 20's on a stock height GS look the same as those 21in. Dramas. That is also a ugly wheel, seen it on a Bently just a ugly wheel, discountinued real fast.

Get a 21in. wheel like an HRE that has a 3in., lip put it on a GS that is lowered and no one would really be able to tell the difference from a picture. I have seen 21's up close on lowered cars and they look almost identical to 20's. Some guy had 21 HRE on the back of an Aston Martin. Couldn't even tell.

Just like a lowered GS with 19's parked next to a lowered GS with 20's. If it's the same wheel you probaly wouldn't even be able to tell that one is a 19 and the other is a 20.

I just think most wheels that are made for cars that are 21in + are ugly and cheap and the people that get them do not lower their cars so they give a really hideous "dune-buggy" look.

I remember when my brother first go 20's on his Mustang. Since he hadn't lowered his car it looked weird but after the 2in. drop it's so sweet looking.

I can't stand my GS at stock height with factory wheels. Looks stupid to me. Can't what to drop it.

has anybody thought about what damage it would do on ur tranny if u even considered about puttin 22's maybe even 21's on ur ride? i personally know that navigators get tranny problems with 22's bc its so heavy.
EDIT: given that they are chromed wheels. but if u go with a super light alloy then all means show me a pix.

Really? 21" HRE? That's a neat trick... HRE doesn't make a 21" wheel...

That's a good point u make regarding the wheel design, the Dramas have a very straight spoke that goes right to the lip which gives it a even larger appearance since it draws ur eyes to the egde of the wheel, unlike lipped wheels which draw ur eyes to the center. Hate to admit it, but I like the strong simple design of the Drama's (the ones without the ugly rivets) on big cars.

But lip or no lip, the GS is too short for 21's, I saw a LS430 with 21s that had a lip and a drop, and it looked

Good point though

When u fit 11.5" in the rear, what offset do u run? Cuz I'm planning to fit 20x10 +24 in the rear with 275-30-20 on GS430. I also want to lower the car for about 3 inches to tuck the tires into the wheelwells.

The fact of the matter is this; 20s are the largest wheel that should be fit on a GS. You want 21s or 22s, buy a 745, where is looks somewhat appropriate. You want to get in the World Guiness Book of World Records for largest wheels on a GS, fine. But you will also win lowest I.Q in the Northern Hemisphere.

The 2nd gen GS is 5 inches shorter than the 1st gen. If bigger is better, you bought the wrong car.

This is CLUBLEXUS LAW. No bigger than 20s on a GS. Any questions???????
