Welcome to the club and ye sI have experienced this. There are so many theories and reasons why we get shake out of our cars it ihas been discussed over and over but some main things is the balancing. If you do a search (your best friend) you will find lots of stuff about this topic! Goodluck and welcome again.

You'll need to do one or more of the following (in order of priority and expense!):

Balance
Alignment
Tires
Rims

Default Shaking at 80

Mine used to shake at exactly 80, funny thing. I re-balanced the tires and that took care of it. The tires were pretty worn out also. When I got new tires, man, that was night and day also!

I had the same problem when there was snow in or around the wheels. I don't imagine you have that problem in most parts of CA.

Alignment is not related to this concern. When you have your tires balanced, make sure you have them check the road force variation.

John,

Make sure you go to a place that has good quality / fairly new balancing equipment. There is a specific Hunter machine that you'll find by searching that people have had great luck with fixing this problem.

The new Hunter machine can measure the road force variation. The roller extend out and it will do an actual driving measurement. Also it can measure wheel run-outs. I doubt it if your regular tire shop will have his machine. Lexus dealership is the only way. Make sure you ask them to measure the road force variation and ask for the weights.

Second that, Why? Wheel alignment got nothing to do with vibration.
I think alexus is talking about the very bad wheel alignment that worn out the tires really bad( to the steel belt). Then, you'll need to replace the tires and then balance and then align.
