Steering ECU = YES.
Definitely worth the $125 or so...luckily, my local Lexus tech guy installed the ECU free of charge during my 5000 mile "tune up" (aka: "Overglorified Oil Change")...he's a really cool guy...tells me all the haps with the electronics and the car...
I too think this steering ECU should be STOCK with the GS.

they all it for the $$$
imho, all the L-tune stuff is another way for the corporate lex people to make money of us car dudes here in the states. i.e., the shocks are part of the sport pkg gor the gs in europe. like you guys said, the "l-tune" ecu SHOULD be the std equip on the gs. driving a high hp gs is just plain dangerous with the stock ecu. i like them tight and firm.

On the old ClubLexus there was an arcticle on how to do the ECU swap-out. See if you can find it there.

But I agree the GS400/430 should NOT be tuned (handling/steering) the same way as the 300. With 300HP, it needs precise steering/handling to maintain control.

Steering ECU installation
Racing Aristo:
If you need help on the installation, e-mail me at eaglepub@psnw.com. I can fax you the instructions or guide you thru it. The ECU comes with no instructions. It takes about 15 minutes to install.
