Concern with rear tint on GS with dual rear and side mirror defroster!
I am considering tinting my windows, but I have a concern! I have the side mirror defroster option
that is switched with the rear defroster when activated. I have heard that activating a defroster with tint will damage the film. Does anyone else have this option with rear tint? Or should I consider having the rear window dipped?

I don't think I've heard of the side mirror defrost option before! Are the mirrors just heated?
Is your concern having tint on the rear window with the defroster? I have tint on my rear window and all GS' have a rear defroster (I think) with no problems at all.

i never knew they gave that option, sounds cool...i don't think it would a problem, my brother has that on his mb and he tinted the windows all around and no problems as of yet........good luck

Dave, You are right! The side mirrors are heated independently from the Rear window defroster.
Therefore no longer a concern in regards to the tint.
