I painted my lights with the lights still on the car just protect your car from over spray.

hello yah. Listen I have tried both ways on GS 98' lights & 01 lights. Both Tint red 20% film & Walmart Candy paint & Professional Brake tail lamp spray.

20% film works very well but will end up peeling off or bubbling with air pockets.
Candy apple paint(walmarts) is not oem look. close but NO cigar.
Japanese Brake taillamp spray is perfect. Each coat should be about 10% tint color light transmitency.
So 2 coats will give you OEM factory red color.

whatever you do, DO NOT use paint STRIPPER. it'll deform the whole thing. found out the hard way on my old maxima.

 

so what every happend to the silver sticky stuff, what is it, where did u get it, etc......

i take it, it is also transparent, so what is it.

 

ok so how do you get the red tape in there to cover up the yellow ???

 

I really like Panda's idea. The silver transparent tape is awesomel, almost gives that JP look to the tails except it's silver tape and not clear plastic.
