I just installed a new rear view mirror that has the electronic compass. When I turn on the ignition, the display for the compass comes on, displaying 2 zeros for a few seconds, then is displays 2 dashes. I have followed the re-calibration instructions to try to get it to work but no matter how long I keep the mode button pressed in, the display never changes from the 2 dashes. I drove the car around for about 10 minutes. Still no change. I have held the mode button for 30 seconds or more to see if I can get it in to the mode to select the region or to get it into calibration mode. No luck. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Thanks,

The 2000 and before GS models weren't equiped with the compass, I beleive. Maybe that has something to do with it.

After looking at this doc posted here in the articles section:

I could have a problem with this mirror. If anyone out there who works for Lexus has any ideas on how I can get this mirror warranteed, that would be great!
Thanks
