Straight,

I remember reading that the cracking comes during the winter as well. My Honda does this too! So damn annoying!!!

Interior detailing sounds good.....where's your buddy's shop located?

Straight6, I'll PM you when I'm ready.

I know it's no big deal, but can someone tell me if something's missing in this area?

I think there is supposed to be a small toolkit there--not totally required mind you. My car doesn't have one in there either.

My trunk looks similar to yours, it just has the lug wrench (like you have), and the jack twister (on teh R side of the tire). Make sure you have a jack on the very L side near the side of the car.

If the current owner has the wheel lock on each wheel, make sure he give your the socket that removes the wheel lock.

there is supposed to be a tool kit there...make sure the jack is there too. also, if he doesnt have the wheel lock, its no biggie, the dealership can order you one for $12.

FYI. Scottsdale lexus has a 2000 GS400, certified with 39K on the odometer. Priced at about 27K and they will deal. It is that gold color. Nice car. Talk to Jeremy Hanna in used cars if interested. 480-990-7000. web site is scottsdalelexus.com.

UPDATE: Bad news. I thought I would have the car today, but it didn't work out that way.

On Tuesday (4 days ago), the seller wired the bank the balance on the loan to pay it off. The bank told the seller that they mailed out the lien release document to him the following day (Wednesday). It's Saturday now, and he still hasn't received it yet.

The seller actually gave the bank his FEDEX account number so that they can overnight the document(s) to him, but I don't think the bank did that.

The seller called the bank up several times and the bank wasn't able to tell him the method used when they mailed out the letter.

Well, he'll call again on Monday to request the bank to send another one overnight (the bank agreed to this when they spoke yesterday).

Hopefully I'll get the car early this week before I go on vacation.

What I would do is pay him half the money now for the car since he has the title. and then after everything is finished then pay him the rest when you take possession of the car.

good luck!

Joe, I gave him a $1,000 deposit last week.

I'll give him the balance when I pick up the car (when he receives the lien release letter from the bank).

Hopefully I'll have it by Wednesday.

I hope the deal doesn't fall through. I already bought these for the car.

I was thinking about a dry system......... a shot of 75, so I guess the bottle doesn't have to be that large.

If I don't get the GS, I guess these will go on my CR-V

I hope these fit the rear

I wouldn't pay him squat until he straightens out his financial mess.

I have to concur with Bit on this. There are lots of GS's out there that you can potential buy. Let this guy straighten out his financial mess before you plunk down your hard earned $$$'s.

I find this hard to believe. The banks usually would have records and documentions on how this was sent out. Who is telling you all of this.....the Seller? Something is not right here
I would look for another GS and let the Seller get his finances straighten out.
