Default Can't open the trunk from the inside

Hey guys, I just noticed that I am not able to open the trunk from the inside of the car.
If I pull the trunk release nothing happens.
What could be wrong?

Richie,

I recall seing a TSB on the internal trunk release for the 98 GS. What year is yours?

Edit - I had to stop myself from saying "It only works from the inside. Lie down in the trunk and close it. You'll be able to get it open then"

I'm not a computer, but I play one on TV.

You can get the titles here: http://www.alldata.com/TSB/31/98310612.html

AX001R-01 MAY 01 Trunk - Retrofit Internal Release Kits

There's another that I'll try to find or someone can post. We might have it also in the information from our homepage.

Edit - see if you can get to this

Guys,

I think I may have confused you guys.
I'm talking about the trunk release in the pasenger compartment, left and down from the steering wheel.

Are you guys talking about the one in the trunk?

Aha, yes. Sorry I misunderstood.

You might have pushed / turned the valet button locking it out? Do you know how to do that?

I don't use mine much (maybe tried it once), but here's a picture of it I happen to have from when I snapped one of my JBL Bass control ****.

See it right between the fuel and trunk levers? Play around with that a bit. Somebody that uses theirs can chime in on how to work it. I think you either depress it and release with the master key or just turn with the master key.

I had the same problem and I realized that it was the valet button. Just use your key to unlock it. It should work again.
