SBMGS4,
Yeah its been a long time and you've done quite a few mods to your car as well.
varcity64,
The front bumper is an RMM, but its not gonna stay looking like that for very long.
J_RoK,
man its all good as long as you stay on that side of the country. If you're looking for other ideas, have you seen Synergy's take on these rims....
jtanoyo1,
you're on to something buddy...hmmm I really like the Egoist trunk and rear section as well as their side skirts with the fender flares...we'll see...
1SICKLEX,
Believe me, I've been thinking bout this for a good 6 months and even when it went into the shop, I wasn't sure what I had done...but when it came out, I was genuinely suprised that it looked this good.
alister,
yeah I was messing with photoshop a lot to try to get the look I wanted but in the end its only a guide, you really need to go to a shop an see what the wheels would look like. Fortunately, www.wheeltechniques.com always had plenty of fresh jobs that they had just finished, so every week I was able to see a differnt finish. Once I saw the black/polished combo on a similar wheel in person, I was sold.
Lexobenz,
yep gotta give it up to the E Class...saw a white one pass me on the freeway a few months back, with the panoramic roof and it confirmed to me that what I was thinking could actually work.
thanks everyone for all the compliments and stay tuned as this tranformation continues....

wheels made it to HIN
well as it turns out, my wheels found a little HIN glory. Batting pinch hitter for RMMGS4's winning Lexus which incidently is alpine silver with a full RMM kit, his car along with my wheels took home Best Lexus at the San Mateo HIN.
Pics from HIN are on the LGW site.

man, they look good with red AP brakes behind them.

Thanks to Jawnthen for loaning me his wheels for HIN. My wheels were not ready in time for "their" transformation. Don't know how I would of done without a clean set of wheels.
Jawthen and I have been pushing the envelope on bold styling ideas. It was atleast 6 months just to get warmed up to the idea of the black roof. Even photochop is not enough to feel comfortable. I'd say that even on the day that Jawnthen's car was put "under the gun" he was still having second thoughts.
The second we saw the car done, we knew it was the right thing. This is one of those deals where pictures don't do justice. Kinda like looking at HRE wheels in person vs. in pics. Somehow, you have to see this live to get the full affect.
For this post he made it fairly obvious what the mod was, but for those who see the car in person, we don't mention the roof at all. It takes a while before people figure out why the car looks so good with the black rims. They eventually figure out why, but it is a subliminal thing, when you don't tell people about it. The roof really adds balance to the black on silver theme, IMO.
Well we are working on more transformations to Jawnthen's car today, not only to the dark side, but a few other styling changes "Never before seen" on CL.
Stay Tuned.

mod bug! mod bug! JK!
I like the black roof look. I always liked it after coming from the JDM honda / nissan camp after so many years. Good choice and kudos for stepping out of the box!
