GS leather "trim" is 100% leather all around
#31
Well like I said before... its a waste of time to use 100% leather and 3 times harder to install. We can sell covers as 100% leather but the price is more of course. We will offer several different packages for the GS if we get it though. Ranging from 100% vinyl to 100% leather. Anyways rest assured... if you want 100% leather again you can have it, but I wouldnt suggest it to anyone that I liked.

P.S. Just for the record... I think there is still a little vinyl in the interior seat areas. Even BMW will use it on certain areas that are never touched or seen. Mainly attachment pieces, but once I get the interior I will tell ya if I am wrong.

Here's the parts breakdown for the rear seats. Pick a section, and I'll let you know what it's made of (again, I'll even supply a pic for proof).
Once you get the original OEM seats, I think you'll see what I've been seeing all this time

No worries bro I dont want you to take your seat apart for nothing at this point. Once I get the interior and if I find any I will post it and you can doublecheck me and see if yours are vinyl also.

I'm digging up this old thread on purpose, for the record.
I've just taken apart my entire '99 GS interior to replace seat covers. Two comments:
1) The OEM Lexus interior is absolutely 100% LEATHER. Every piece, including all attachment pieces. The only places that plastic appears is to reinforce behind a leather attachment piece.
2) The quality of the Lexus OEM leather is overrated. It is nice when new, but not very thick, and tends to get hard an glossy over time. The Leatherseats.com aftermarket leather is actually better leather, but their replacement covers have VINYL patches on the sides and generally where they are attached.

No leather on the dash...thats for sure But as has been pretty much confirmed here...all seats, the door-inserts, steering wheel, gear **** and both front and rear armrest are 100% leather
I remember on the (mkIV) Supra...the eurospecs where ALL leather...while you guys (and JDM's aswell) got the vinyl'ed up version I guess theres no such difference on the GS then..thankfully
