Default Would you please assist New GS owner

Hey folks. This is one of my first post, so please bear with me. I'm very close to closing a deal on a 1999 GS300. The dealer agreed to let me have the car inspected by my personal mechanic before we closed the deal. I was wondering, are there any specific concerns that I should make the mechanic aware of while he checks the car out? The car has 100k on the odometer.

Any advice you guys can offer would mean the world to me.

Welcome KP.

The GS Series has few problems. The earlier years (98/99) have a couple more minor quirks then the later years, but both have been known to have:

Moisture in Healights
Low/rough Idle Issue
Door Actuator Problems
Dash Rattle
Sunroof Rattle
Vibration at Highway Speed

Also, I want to make you aware of one of the rules you agreed to when you joined our forum - no carfax requests are allowed. The service is only twentysome bucks, just buy it please

Besides all those problems,

I will say check the carfax report, maintenance record and make sure all VIN #s are matching everywhere on the car.

Look for paint job if there's any.

Hope it helps

Good luck
