hi im new to this forum and just bought a gs 400 i want to put sc430 rims on it has anyone done this how do they look and drive

I know the brand new Sc's have new rims, but if you are talking about 03 and below, imo, they are FUGLY. Even on the SC I love the SC430 , but buying new rims would be priority #1. Although, this is your car, so do as you wish. There are tons of rims to choose from that will look much better imo. as far as i know I have never seen a gs with the SC430 rims.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the OEM SC430 dish wheels at all... think they're the worst looking wheels Lexus has every put out. However, if you like them go for it! Be aware that the SC430 owners often complain about the runflats tires and you won't have any of the electronics for sensors, etc.

in general i think the rims on the sc430 are ugly as hell... so i don't think they'd look good on ANY cars

Geeeeez....is there something in the air lately?

It all started with G35 stock wheels, then Supra stock wheels, and NOW '03 SC430 stock wheels on the 2nd Gen. GS. What going on ppl?

Those are pretty ugly, even uglier than G35 wheels, although not as sacrilegious.
Speaking of ugly rims and sacrilege:
I've seen a GS300 in Kansas City with 17" GOLD Daytons on it. To add to this classy modification, they are medium dish all golds with low profile tires so they stick out 3-4" while emphasizing a huge wheelwell. It looks like a turtle.

Next time I see it I'll shoot a photo as soon as the vomiting subsides.

Can't you just take the center cap from the 04 and put it on the 03 wheels and they'll look exactly like the 04s? In other words, isn't the only thing they changed for 04 the center cap rather than the wheel itself?

While I agree that the 03 and below SC wheels are really bad looking, especially on any other lexus vehicle beside the SC... I must say that I strongly prefer the look of an OEM wheel to most any aftermarket wheel... especially the grossly oversized and/or 'bling bling' super-chrome/spinner type wheels.

do a search for Alexus (maybe do advanced and put something like "got another GS" and his name) I know he'd picked up a gold GS4 that had the SC430 pie plates on it. I think with the new centers they wont look bad.
