Default Moon roof creaking

Today Lexus fixed the creaking/popping noise coming from my moon roof (I believe SeattleGS400 posted a technical service bulletin posted about this issue a few weeks ago). Anyway, the creaking/popping noise is gone, but now there is a tremendous amount of wind noise coming from my moon roof on the highway.: I don't remember what the moon roof looked like closed before I had the TSB done. Could someone post a picture of the front part of the moon roof? Should it be butted up against the metal or is there a little space around the entire perimeter? Also, does it lie flush with the roof of the car or is it slightly sunk in? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

On my 98 it is flush with the roof, and no gaps. No wind noise at all.
Sorry it just rained so the pictures show the dirt on my car. Thats what I get for living in a windy area with lots of open farm fields.

Thanks. 98 -- alpine silver? Same here. I can't tell from the pictures, but does the rubber molding strip that surrounds the glass actually come in contact with the metal of the roof of the car, or is there a very slight gap around the perimeter? On mine, it looks like there is a small gap, but I can't imagine that this could have been caused by the TSB, especially uniformly around the entire moon roof.

Default Pix of mine

I definitely think mine looks different. There seems to be a gap between the moonroof and the metal. What do you think? Anyone else?

Does anyone else have any thoughts about this? The wind noise is deafening.

I had a slight wind noise coming from the sunroof while I was driving. anyways the cause of it was the drain tubes located right behind the back tires, they drain the water from the sunroof. Anyways the dealership took the tubes out and replaced them with two balloons, with a few slits in them, to let any water drain out that does go to it. anyways ever since then I have not had any wind noise problems at all. THe cause I think is from the wind being sucked out from the tube cuz of air moving past it so fast, or it could be the air being pushed through the tube. Hope that helps.

Thanks ShowGS. I know about the drainage tubes, and this is definitely not that. In fact, the other day, I pulled the drainage tubes up and secured them so they are just barely extending through the drainage holes. This wind noise came about on the day I picked up my car from having the TSB completed for the creaking/popping noises coming from the moonroof. They added a bunch of felt around the moonroof, and I think it just isn't sitting right.

My moonroof was also generating a creaking noise. After looking at the TSB, I pulled off the moonroof garnish. Apparently the felt strips that were installed by the dealer didn't work so I left the garnish off. No more creaking.

What exactly is the garnish? Is that the plastic piece that is attached to the underside of the moonroof?

Yup, it's the black plastic around the edges. Carefully pry it off. I used a tool that looks like the back of a hammer to pull out nails instead of a screwdriver. See #7 on the attached file and don't forget to use some tape to avoid scratching the glass.
