Photos of the new window tint (and cool night time shots)
Hi all,
After a recent "interview" with the California Highway Patrol (my second in two months, this one resulting in a fix-it ticket), I decided it was time to get the GS re-tinted.
I chose a light blue SunTek film I saw on a recent Ford Racing/Wings West/HRE show car we were involved with. This was a tough decision, as I had only seen it on one other car- and that was indoors at the SEMA International Auto Salon (in Ford's booth). Some have said the tint looks like a darker version of the factory tint on recent Mercedes cars.
I have typically tinted my cars with light film- I like to see out at night (this was not possible with the old tint), and I like the ladies to see in (LOL). So far, I am very satisfied. The new tint gives the car a bit of a unique and classy look.
The only unfortunate part of the experience was when the tint guy pulled the car around to the front of the building and ran my Explosion front bumper into the curb. I watched this from my office window (while saying "stop... Stop... STOP!!"). So much for trusting anybody else with the car. Time to R&R the front bumper. BTW, the revised bumper will have a subtle blue carbon fiber in the openings with a different mesh screen. See? Something good will come from something bad!
I took a few shots with my new Sony DSC-V1 digital camera. This thing is awesome! With 5.0 Mega Pixels, a Carl Zeiss lens and full manual control, I can really get creative. Hope you enjoy the shots:

EV ftw!!!
Tint looks great and of course that blue and those 20's make this one of my all-time fav cars here on CL!!! Just remember me when you upgrade those 840R's to something else!

so any clue as to what the tint would be for the actual stock look of the mercedes benz? I have a silver gs and I really like the stock mercedes really faint light blue tint and would like that but anything darker blue would make my car look really really stupid. It almost has to be so light it isnt noticeable. any clue?
