Help with steering problem :(
Hey guys - got a problem
My 99Gs400 is not living up to lex standard :P Currently driving straight at more than 20mph requires almost a 1/4 turn of the steering wheel - so its all half cocked to drive... It doesnt pull hard to one side or anything - it has a slight drift but nothing out of the ordinary. It will cruise jjust fine with the wheel off center. i also know the struts need replacing (shes got 90k on the odometer) I have her scheduled to go in next week for the struts. Anyway i asked the mechanic about the steering and he said that there isnt any adjustmant as far as allignment - he can adjust the Tow and check tire pressure.... I've also heard that the GS steering is all electronic aka buying repacement steering ECU's.... so whats up with my GS??? Do i need a new ECU? This is really bothering me - i cant say exactly when it started but its been gradual over the past 2 months. PS - i always keep constant tire pressure @ 40lbs. ..
HELP!!!

Thanks everyone - Well I am deffinetally going to a diff mechanic, one other question, what is the TOW he was talking about? Just curious. He also mentioned that my front rotors were severly warped... anyway im buying new ones too. Guess after its all done i will have new struts, rotors, pads, and an allignment... hopefully that will resolve the issue - nothing can ruin a badass looking lexus than a bad ride...
Anyone else have some tips or ideas for me? Thanks for the ideas allready - you guys are the best! gals too
Thanks,
Andrew

Wheel rotated off-center?
It could be that the steering wheel was removed by a mechanic and re-installed slightly rotated off-center. This happened to me when I had my telescoping steering assembly replaced under warranty. I drove home and the steering wheel was rotated slightly to the left, about 1/8th of a turn. I just brought it back to Lexus and they fixed it, and I got another free car wash.
