Bad FM radio reception -- please don't move right away
I know I should take this topic over to the audio forum, but before I do so (or before the moderator moves me), I thought I would ask it over here because my guess is that a lot of you guys don't go over there too often. I have terrible FM stereo reception. Sometimes it's okay, but most of the time it's weak, hissing and cracking. Does anyone know if there's a way to get better reception? Is there such a thing as a signal amplifier? A second antenna? Coat the rear window with aluminum foil? Anyone??????? Thanks.

Don't quote me on this, but metallized tint seems to be the one kind of tint that can cause problems with radio reception. Check with the tint shop where you had yours installed and ask the kind/quality of tint on your car.

I talked with a Scosche rep and they said they no longer sell that booster (although it is still listed on the site?!). He also fell short of any plausible suggestions aside from replacing the radio, drilling a hole for a fender antenna (!!!!), or replacing the window. I can live with the disturbance for now to say the least.
