Personally this board is starting to sound like a MB forum. No Lexus's car is known for cornering except the IS300. Personally I see no reason to trade in my wife GS300 for the new 2006 GS300 or whatever. So far from what I seen the new RL simply is going to be a nice car. If you don't like the look of the car then I can understand but I really haven't read anything that said the GS is superior. I feel the old RL is very comparable with my GS300.
Where in the hell does anyone find the current GS higher quality than the RL other than the name? It's very obvious you haven't sat in the current RL.
I don't fly up and down the highway in my wife gs300 b/c my cl type S is faster. Throw Prestige out the window. B/c in that case all of us would have purchase MB. Just the other day my friend told me he was trading in his gs for an old clk320 for more prestige I laugh my **** head off.
I almost forgot the RL is made in Japan.

For everyone that is complain about torque steering check out new rl video out.

I actually think you should wait until all 3 cars come out and make your decision.

Between the current RL and the current GS... no question, the GS is the way to go. I hate the current RL interior. Just looks like an early 90s interior when most of the rest of the world is using present-day interiors (except for some Jaguar and GM models, IMO). I also drove one (my Boss has an 03) and it's about as boring to drive as the LS430. But unfortunately you don't get anything even remotely close to the LS430's quietness or ride. It's like the worst of both worlds. Oh and on top of everything... they are slow.

Now the new RL could be an entirely different story. I'll tell you one thing is for sure... if they turn the new RL around like they did the new TL, and make sure they leave the TL's initial quality bugs at the door... they will have a definite winner on their hands.

Then again we don't know what exactly the new GS is going to be like.

Really, at this point, we have two cars that haven't even come out yet. So comparing them is kind of silly unless you just care about looks or historical reliability.

It sure doesn't look half as interesting as this 8 year old design.

ACURA will give you a lot more car for money ( if you say that's cheap, )
but let me add another car to your big dilemma.
the infiniti M45 would be the very worthy competitor too.
i think you should wait and see those all car in person until they all are actually on sale

That's not even closely fair. All the cars you post are modified. Throw some rims on an old RL and it look just good as LS or GS. Lexus is defiantly isn't know for beautiful cars. Lexus is none for reliable/Luxury cars. Plus have you even seen the RL in person? Plus the last picture you post probaly is fake.

The RL in the picture has 20"rims so it's fair enough. The last pic is a photoshop GSTRANCE did. The RL will be a nice car (the interior looks great), probably come loaded with Nav as the only option (like the TSX and TL) and surely 20 jumps ahead of the current car.

Well GSTRANCE did an excellent job on making the GS look better. What I should have said was non stock rims. Those 20inch Acura rims can't compare to those rims on those Lexus's cars you post. I think Acura/Infiniti/ and Lexus are bringing out some nice cars. Hopefully I can trade in my CL for one these beautiful vehicles.

Yes, they are all coming out with some winners. The thing is the public has no problem paying 50k and up for a Lexus (GS/LS/SC/GX/LX) but 50k and up Acuras (RL is close to 50k, NSX)/Infiniti's (M45 is close loaded/Q45) sell slow as molasses. I think the RL will play the in-between field well, with standard AWD and a 300hp V-6 and NAV as the only option.

i've seen this car at the auto show and it has some high points.. but, the over all side profile looks like a big corolla...definetely not acura style .. bring back the old "Legend" with an appealing design-now that would be threating!!

I think its nice that Acura/Infiniti/Lexus are giving us more choices at least now if some one whats something other than a Lexus they will have other nice reliable makers to look to.
