Went over a small bump tonight and the three lights came on and STAYED on. Any idea what's going on?

Restarted the car and they stayed on.

Bummer.

bitkahuna

check your manual and see if the fuse is fine. If you cannot figure out than take it back to the dealer and have them fix this issue.

I would say it indicates a problem. I've had mine in twice to the dealer when my VSC-off and Traction lights came on and stayed on. In my case, it was also accompanied by the check engine light (no ABS) and problem was found to be the Throttle Position Sensor. When it happened the 2nd time within 2 months, the dealer replaced the throttle body. The car had stored the error code and told the tech exactly what had faulted.

It sounds like you may have a different prob, but our cars are so smart that I guess I assume when a light comes on it it generally indicates a true problem.

Good luck.

The same thing happened to my about a year ago, I can't exactly remember what was wrong with it, but what I do remember is that the lexus dealer on peachtree industrial quoted me a little over $900 to fix it, then I took it to lexus of roswell, where they fixed it for around $200. Give me some time and I may be able to find my old records.

Default Update...

Slight correction, it was my VSC, ABS and VSC-OFF lights that have been stuck on.

Dealer looked at it today and said they think it's the ABS computer, and want to replace it (under warranty of course). Part is now on order. Great service - they said the car's fine to drive or I could keep the loaner til it came in (could be Monday or so).

As usual the car was immaculately cleaned when I picked it up, and the kid who drove my car out said 'cool car!' - I said 'ya like it huh?' and he said "yeah, them rims, the exhaust, ... best one I've seen!" Brought a smile to my face!

Now if I can just get rim of dem lights... speaking of which, lately I've been driving in power mode (which I've REALLY come to prefer because it doesn't shift up so easily and drops from 5-4 or 4-3 with less gas input) and tonight I was low on gas, so I had *5* lights on the dash lit up... looked like a christmas tree!

Bitkahuna,I have a friend that had a 99 gs4 with the same problem. What i found to be the problem was that
he had a system installed and they had left a plug under the back seat disconected. The harness that
was unpluged had to do with the rear section of the
car,,brake lights-lights ect. so on.

I had the same exact problem with my car the VSC-OFF the VSC and the ABS lights would come on I was told it was from the after market intake and I thought I was the only one with this problem but I found out that alot of 99's have this problem it could be defect but since I got the 60,000 miles tune up done to my car I havent had the problem since so if I think csr is right since my dealers told me that they cleaned my throttle body and now it works just fine so I'm happy but I hate the RMM air intake

Well guys, my car did the exact same thing the day I pulled from the dealership. I have 2k miles and it still comes and goes. (on as I pulled into drive this morning) I have not had time to take back, but be sure I will print all this info first. Your right on the bump. When it does go off all it takes is a bump to fire them back on. the other bummer is that you cant cut the system off when those lights are on. very annoying when hitting high speed on/off ramp and the car wants to brake. The system is good if Johnny chases his ball into the street in front of you with coffee in hand!
solving these little problems!
Another benefit from ClubLexus!
thanks
BTW
Have any of the dealerships fixed the problem?
Tell the dealer that is blaming your HFI to go F*%$ you know what I mean. send this info to Lexus Corp. the dealerships get in real trouble when the lie to customers! We are very fortunate because I think Lexus is the only car company that really monitors there dealerships.

Default ABS, VSC-Off, Check Enging lights stuck ..

Interesting. It just happened to me last week for the second time in about a year. It was raining. The next day, everything was back to normal I have a 98 GS4. Thanks for all the input ... I am due for service soon and I will mention it. Thus far, my experience with Lexus Carlsbad has been outstanding. I am sure that they will not igore it. On a side note, for the almost 3 years I have owned the car, the only thing that I have had a problem with other than this was the LCD display on the radio. Radio replaced immediately. A good friend of mine just bought a Mercedes S430 ($80K) about 3 months ago, and it has been in the shop 8 TIMES for a myraid of stuff. I told him he should have bought a Lexus !

My car is in now for the light problem....
The service department believes the problem is a speed sensor on one of the front wheels? Hope this helps?

Thanks for asking Marty - I go in tomorrow morning to get the ABS computer replaced. I've got the printout of this thread in case that doesn't fix it!

By the way I was scheduled to go in next Monday and I called Tony my service guy and said I'd like to get the lights off before the Lexus meet on Sunday and he said "heck let's get that fixed Friday then!" What a great guy.

Seeya Sunday! Hopefully with my warning lights off!

Bit,

I work about 15 minutes from Hennessey. Send me a pm or call me at the office if you need me to pick you up or if you get stuck there during lunch and I'll come down and get you.

I have read the whole manual and it says that whenever any lights come on and stay on for more than a minute then there is a problem and that you need to take it to a dealer. If you have warranty then they should fix it free of charge (and hopefully give you a rental too if it is going to take longer than a few hours).
