hey recently my 5000mile service is up, and im thinking to put a factory spoiler on myGS430, i remember when i bought the car, the salesperson said that i could hav spoiler put on for free(while i bought the car) but i told him that "oh we can do that later..like when the service time is coming ..) so we didn't hav the spoiler put on the car, and when i called him couple days ago regarding the spoiler, he says that its gonna cost $700 something so i was like......ok.....(maybe because im only20 and my father was with me when we bought the car....) well...
is there any way i can get a factory spoiler without spending that much money???or??? any suggestions???
thanks!!

Remember that your GS has a center mounted brake light on the rear deck (behind the back seat). The true "factory spoiler" was put on at the factory and these cars have a different rear deck with no center light because the spoiler has a brake light within. To obtain this look, your dealer would have to install the spoiler but also change out the rear deck to eliminate the extra brake light. See if he is including the rear deck in his $700 price. He should be if he is throwing around the term "factory spoiler."

Your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about. I had the same questions when I was buying my car. My dealer showed me 2 cars. One with factory-installed spoiler, and one with dealer installed (option) spoiler.
The Lexus "factory spoiler" is a spoiler that is put on the car at time of production, and is not an "aftermarket" option. That said however, you can have a Lexus spoiler (option) put on your car, but it is slightly narrower than the factory spoiler installed at production. Geodesic is correct. When the factory installs the spoiler, there is no brake light in the back window of the car. If the aftermarket/option spoiler is installed at a later date, a cover is put on the inside brake light.
Make sure your dealer knows what you're talking about, you don't want to have them mess up your vehicle.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

LexusLady or anybody else...
I called Toyota and asked if they could get me a spoiler for my GS...they said yes and for only 359 painted! Is this pretty much similar to one I would purchase at Lexus.
And, they cover the deck brake light? they can't just pull it off?
thanks!

I would say it's the same one Lexus would get you. The spoiler sells for $440 MSRP ($352 invoice) through Lexus, and that is painted. At least when you buy the car, and you want the spoiler as an option, it comes painted, and installed.
I'd call Lexus and get them to give you a quote as well.
