Default ok i got a gs300 today

I just brought a 2001 GS300 white/tan, very clean, 30,000 miles 100,000 miles warranty, remote starter, lo jack, the dealer wanted $29,995, i paid $28,000, good deal or not? have in mind that this is a lexus dealer

OK what should I do to it to make it faster- turbo or supercharger might be later down the road, for now just bolt ons.
Another question why does IS300 has less hp than the gs300? they have the same engine.
thanks

Welcome to the club of proud lexus owners.

Sounds like a decent deal considering it's from a lexus dealer plus the low mileage and extended warranty.

Enjoy it !

must be that dual exhuast and the longer tubing being that the gs is a longer car. plus the gs is heavier.

congrats on the buy....the only reasoning i know is that we have more torque bc of our weight.

I think it's a simple matter of economics. If Lexus built a cheaper, lighter 4-door sedan (albeit smaller) with the same hp/torque as a GS300, I don't think anyone will want to buy the GS300.

Now a turbocharger is infinitely upgradeable depending on your chequebook. It also requires quite a bit more maintenance than a normally aspirated car.

A supercharger is usually a "set it and forget it" affair. Boost comes on at very low rpm, no lag involved, but you are kinda stuck at the psi the supercharger is set at. You may change the pulley or whatever, but it's not infinitely upgradeable like a turbo would.

At the end it's up to you and what you want. Go crazy!

I thought the difference in the hp was beacause of the different inlet manifold design on the IS.
I think I read that somewhere.

No i am actually from Queens, NY, drove down there just to check that car and decided to buy it.
The dealer was a nice guy, explained everything and wasn't pushing me to buy it.
I am picking the car up on wed, i can't wait.
