Just bought a 98 spectra blue gs400 and the remote worked when I picked the car up, but now when I hit the locks there is no beep and the doors lock but then they immediately unlock . I can't unlock with them either. Could this be a battery issue or something? I haven't seen any posts about this in the archives.
Any help would be appreciated

The actual key will unlock/lock the doors, but this morning I tried to use the lock button in the door and nothing happened, would the drivers door actuator keep the other locks from not locking when I try to use the keyfob?

Could be your key cylinder. My problem is if I don't pull the key straight out, not all the pin/tumblers in the cylinder release so the car thinks the key is still in there. The remote locks doesn't work but I can manually lock the doors its fine. Remote unlock and truck worked. Do you hear chimes when you open the drivers door with the keys in your hand and does the steering wheel retract? Try wiggling the key slot or pushing on the slot without inserting the key.

My LS had a similar situation. I'd unlock the door from the master switch and or key and it would continue to unlock itself numerous times. One feature of the LS driver key cylinder is when held in the unlock position, it will lower the driver window. The fix in my situation was a new key cylinder at $470.
I examined the old part and while the mechanical aspect of the cylinder was fine, the small electronic circuit from the cylinder has a position sensor, for whatever reason, it read the cylinder as in the open-unlock position.
