I HAD the dreaded sunroof rattle. As an engineer, I wasn't happy with this, and "I didn't need no stinkin' dealership" to fix the problem. After trying this and that, I realized my problem was not the sunroof itself, but the sunroof COVER that was squeaking. This was hard for me to find out. My wife is deaf (for real), so the GS is REALLY quiet to her..LOL. And my buddies were no help..as they all said "I can't hear a thing". But for us owners, it's a very real annoyance. So I accidently found out, in my case, that it's the cover that is rattling, and not the actual sunroof. How did I fix it? By chance, I found that after the cover was closed, if I pushed it back a mere 1/8", the rattling stopped, and the cover still looked closed. Ditto with it open...if it was open all the way, it rattled...if I pushed it off a touch, rattling stopped. So I'm please that it worked for me. It was the ONLY squeak the car had, and it was driving me mad. I just thought I'd post this in case it works for someone else (even 1 person!). Please let me know if it works for you....

yup....another quirk I noticed with mine was this issue. Not a really big issue, but an issue nonetheless.
I also found that if the car sits for a while, the sunroof shade "moves itself" (and no my car is ghost free
) I find that everytime I enter the car I move the shade a tad and bingo, all fixed.
I wonder if there is a permanent solution to this?

that is so funny, i've had this rattle in both gs's and i didn't want 2 take it apart or take it in 2 the dealer so i did the same. when closeing it i don't close it all the way i stop just short of full force in and it stops 2 rattle same with opening it, its funny i never thought what i was doing was fixing anything, just stopping it until the next owner figures it out

i noticed the same thing and noticed it was the cover ..BUT ...yes there is a but the noise is still
there
..my solution will be to apply thin strips of dynamat or liquid type dynamat to the inside part of the plastics and see what happens
there
