Default Gs 300,400,430 & 98-04 Question!!??

can anyone tell me the difference between a 98 gs3 and a 98 gs400,430 ect and so on.......

NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE ON THE BOARD, BUT.......
i have have a 98 gs300 and my aunt has a 98 gs400 and they look the same to me!!
i always see lexus's and the only thing i can really say i've seen different is the back/tail lights!
Now my lexus is a 98' but many people think its like a 2001 (people that dont know lexus that well)

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 3 models (Gs3,Gs4,& Gs 430) and the different years! (1998-2004) I know the price is more....lol, and i know extras like navi,ect...
Just the basics of the car!

Thanks

Okay. Off the top of my head.
98-00 GS 300 and 400 the EXACT same except.
Interior, GS 400 has wood/leather gearknob, GS 300 has all leather.
GS 400 has e-shift, GS 300 does not.
Exterior, GS 300 has only 16" multi-spokes, GS 400 16" but for only a $215 option, the 17 inch 5 spokes.

01-04 GS 300/430
Interior, GS 430 has wood/leather gearknob, GS 300 has all leather.
GS 430 NO e-shift. GS 300 now has e-shift . Wood wheel option on GS 430, I say 7 of 10 have this wheel.
Exterior, Exterior, GS 300 has only 16" multi-spokes, GS 400 16" but for only a $215 option, the 17 inch 5 spokes.
New tailights for both, new grill for both. Headlights now have a blue tint.
GS 300 has new multi-spoke wheels.
03-04 GS 400s have 7 spoke 17" wheels, no more 5 spokes
03-04 GS have perforated leather.

(takes sigh of breath)

98-00 you could have the nakamichi premium audio. not sure if it's only for gs400. and i believe if you have the nav you can't hve the nakamichi audio.

01 the audio upgrade became mark levenson instead. in that yr, you could have the ML or the NAV, i think you could only get one or the other.

02+ you can only get ML and nav together, not just one

and 01+ the nav is dvd base, pre that it's hdd

I assume that you are only asking about looks right. Then 1SickLex covered many of the differences. There is also that big difference under the hood.

well in terms of look, it's not hard to distinguish between 98-00 and 01+, the grille, the taillights, those are two big hints

under the hood? gosh, one has v8, one has i6, that's different enough right?

While we're on exterior differences, how about bumper lights? I've noticed that most '98+ GS's have them, but a few of them don't. Which GS model years don't have the bumper lights?

EVery GS has amber bubl lights in the headlights (turn signals) and side of the front bumber (parking lights). If you've seen clear, they were replaced.

or if you don't see any, either they have body shop mold the whole thing or it's a body kit bumper replacement

Ahh, that makes sense (after rememebering RI-GS4' L-Sportline with no bumper lights). Thanks rominl

pppoooowwweeeerrrrr pllllaaaannnntttttt

GS300 feels a little sluggish (no offense guys) if you've driven a 400.
and the torque, don't forget the torque.

you can go check out the specs on lexus.com if you really want to compare side by side. that'd prolly be the best way.
