I live in Houston, 98F and 75% humidity. I have never had a car that had an air conditioner that worked as well as mine does in my GS 300, I only assume they rest are as good. I stuck a thermometer in the vent with the blower on HIGH and it was blowing 38F, if the blower was on low the compressor would shut off at 35F to protect itself. The blower may slow at a cabin temp of 65F but I can assure you it blows much cooler than 65F out the vent. I get in the car in the afternoon and the temperature in the car is 120F, before I drive 1/2 mile the air discharging from the vent is 50F, and reaches steady state 38F in about 2 miles. I am going to see how cold I can get it in the car and will post back. I have not in the past because it simply gets to cold in the car and I would adjust the climate control. But you ask a good question.
Most cars will blow 38F to 44F out the vent, the difference with my GS300 is it does it with the fan on high and my blower blows ALOT , in the non-recirc mode. I am cooling 90 plus outside air not recirculating pre-cooled air from inside the car. Other cars will cool to about 50F in the non-recirc mode and the blower on high, which sucks in Houston in the summer time.
I am now curious to determine if it will regulate the temperature at 65F or just let it drop. I will miss the AC capabilities of this car when it is sold.
