Hey,
Has anyone attempted to remove those two "Platinum Edition" emblems on each side behind the front wheel well?
I once saw an auction on eBay just selling those emblems, and they were just adhesive, so I am pretty sure there are no holes behind them. The problem is, these Platinum emblems are stuck CLOSE to the paint, not like the rear emblems where if you looked down vertically, you could easily see the layer of adhesive to remove.
So, has anyone done this? If so, please post your procedure!!
I'm guessing heating it up w/ a blowdryer and SLOWLY peeling it back using maybe a credit card would work....but its stuck SOO close i'm somewhat worried.
Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion bitkahuna.
The problem is, its stuck so close that even slipping dental floss behind it will be difficult. I just wanted to see if anyone on this board already tried to remove their badges and if it was successful.

Looking at that link, it seems the badges are solely adhesive based and have no holes involved in positioning it onto the car. Hopefully this is the case.
Can anyone confirm this?
I'm surprised no one else has tried this? I think those badges look really bad on the car!

I put L-Tuned emblems on my car, and they're positioned with a supplied cardboard template I held in place temporarily with masking tape.
Those emblems are definitely on tight - the backing is VERY sticky.
Maybe you can stick something TO the emblem (with epoxy?) that will let you lift up a corner, and then you can use something like floss to get the rest of it off. Assuming you don't mind ruining the emblem.

BE CAREFUL...
It's funny you ask about this becuz I saw a Platinum Edition GS300 at the mall the other day that had removed his emblems. Honestly, it look like ******!! You could see an outline of where the emblem had been placed. There wasnt much paint scapingor chipping, at least at my view!! I couldn't get up close and do a good inspection but to my eyes, it wasn't done very well...
So be careful!!...

how to remove badges or emblems
spray lots of WD-40 onto the badge making sure to get all sides and be sure to wipe off any excess that runs off onto the body of your car
wait a couple of minutes and then use a blow drier and heat it up for 3 min or so, spray some more wd-40
then use extra-thin but very strong dental floss and go back and forth behind the badge starting at the left or right side (you would be going up and down veritcally with the dental floss)
dont go too fast or else you will break the floss, go steadily, use more wd-40 as needed (should take less than 5 min)
when the badge is off, use a straight edge (something like a credit card) and wd-40 to remove excess (this will take the longest, probably about 10 min)
after all the sticky stuff is gone, wipe off with a towel and wash that area very well with soap&water (just like a typical car wash) and then dry with a towel
next use some polish (meguiars gold class) and apply some onto that area very well, let sit for about an hour to 2 hrs in the shade and then with a clean WHITE towel wipe off the polish well
that should do it, if you are removing both badges then do each step for both badges instead of finishing one badge off completely and starting on next
