from what I understand the next generation GS4 will get the 6 speed auto tranny. If Lexus is serious about staying a contender in this segment of the market they're gonna have to boost the performance of the current driveline.
300 ponies is entry level anymore for this market so they're gonna have to boost acceleration numbers somewhere, and the 6 speed auto tranny is already in the supply line. Add the E-shift or similar product back into the lineup for the GS4 along with the tranny should keep "raw performance" Lexus customers in the fold until the next generation of drivelines come to market.

I don't think the audio control pod on the left side of the wheel would function with the oem Pioneer system, even if you had the harness from the wheel to stereo. I'm modifying my switch assembly to run
a mp3 player I use in my car.
I am 150% impressed. Great news for our members here.
Yeah, Lexus will offer the 6-speed. Benz I think will offer a 7speed in the E. Otherwise, the rest of the competition has 5 speed or less autos.

Hameed,

You see them fairly regulary on E-bay w/o E-shift (2001+ style). RX wheels (up to 2003 I think) are the same wheels.
It also appears that the ES330 (2004) has the same wheel.

w/o E-shift? I have a 99 GS with e-shift and would want one with e-shift. What keyword do you search with on ebay? I tried lexus steering wheel and got these listings, none of which are applicable:

It looks good! But why a black wheel on a gray interior car?

It's actually an Ivory interior. I preferred the black wheel over an Ivory leather one along with replacing the Ivory colored instrument bezel because I think my car has too much of the Ivory color in it, especially the dash. It is strictly a personal taste thing; kinda like the saddle colored interior and black leather/wood wheel combo you see in the design sport GS300 picture posted elsewhere in this forum.

Hameed,

2001+ GS300 wood wheels w/E-shift (like mine) are kinda hard to come by since the wood wheel was/is a $300.00 option that many GS3 owners didn't opt for ( all the new 04 GS3's at my local Lexus dealer do not have the wood option in them ).

Wood trimmed RX wheels are a common sight on e-bay, but don't come with E-shift. You just gotta keep your eyes on e-bay and be ready to pounce when you find one.

I found mine using the keyword search for "lexus steering wheel" also, so just keep your eyes open on e-bay.

Good luck

if i do this i probably want a wheel with e shift (gs300) but i don't need the wood, maybe that would prove to be a bit easier to find huh

I think you're probably right.....just keep your eyes on e-bay and pounce when you find the right one.
Remember....that's where I found my wheel not more than 2 months ago !!

So many people have asked me about this wheel via PM's that if/when I come across a wheel again I'll post it here to let people know about it and where to find it.
