Angry Someone broke into my car, advice needed

Hi,

I was about to drive my car last night and discovered that someone broke into my car. Rear window was all the way down so I assumed that I forgot to close it !?, it was parked in the garage of the building but there were no cameras....

This is GS430/2001. The front ponel was taking out (I don't understand what was the point) or it was cut out I don't know if it comes as single piece. (see attached picture).

Also, spare tire with the rim was taking...

Questions:
Where can I get new panel in light charcoal color?
I will need 17" non-chrome rim with stock tire. I can also consider non-full size spare tire, depending on the price.
Would you recomend reporting this to insurance company? I didn't have any accidents for past 3 years and my deductible is $500. I should have police report today or tomorrow.

Thanks,
Mark.

Yeah, report it and take it to get everything fixed. The $500 deductible is a bummer, but with the replacement panel, rim, tire, labor, etc., it will definitely be worth it.

My $.02

I realize this is a simplistic answer, but it looks to me like some jerk was trying to detail his car, didn't know what the hell he was doing, scratched up the plastic gauge cover on his dash, ( a common problem if you don't know how to clean it properly), and just took the easy way out by yanking one out of your car rather than to do it honestly by going to the Lexus parts department and ordering one.

that is kinda weird. I mean a guy breaks into your car and takes your cluster trim and a spare tire? the airbag and steering wheel are worth a small fortune, and they leave it? something seems fishy...

you only lost the front panel cluster? if that's the case it's pretty cheap, the deductible would be way too much...

Did you ask the Dealer how much the new cluster will be? And what happens to the mileage when you plug in a new cluster.

PM SupraTRD it will only be like $75 since you have a 2001 you wont any of the plugs.
Atmost it will be $150 for the panel and all the plugs and other pieces that might have been taken with the panel. Check ebay for a spare. You will spend way less than the $500 deductable and your insurance wont go up.

I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get an estimate.
I also reported to GEICO just in case if I would like to persue the claim.

I checked ebay but didn't find 5 spoke 17" rim.

Thanks to all.

Exactly what I was thinking when that gauge bezel missing, know how you feel man I've been there, get your police report and estimate the cost of your replacement parts before you call insurance into it, probably can be repaired for less than $500, good luck.
