Default Roof rack/ Cargo carrier

I am planning a long trip in my 98 GS400 and I don't think I will have enough space for everything in the trunk...does anyony have any suggestions for a (temporary) roof rack or cargo bag that won't look to odd.

Thanks in advance.

The best ones are those that are high-end mulipurpose racks for mountain bikes, skis, etc by Yakima and Thule. The cargo carriers are aerodynamic and not too massive that they'll cave your roof in, and the clips (at least on my Yakima) don't injur the car when you're using them.

Unfortunately, they aren't inexpensive, and you have to buy them (not rent) so they aren't temporary.

May make more sense to rent a bigger vehicle or pack less
