price for '04 GS 300
I'm looking to purchase a '04 GS 300. Does anyone know if there are dealer rebates that will be passed on the customer? What can I expect to pay for the car in view of the fact that the new ('05's) are coming out soon and that there will be a complete revised model. The MSRP for the car I want is $45,365 with the invoice being $40,112. Would $38,000 be wishing? Thanks for the help.

You folks were just about right. I've received quotes of $39,559 to $39,400. Rodel, I did go to Edmunds but that doesn't take into consideration ,#1 the $750 dealer rebate and #2 the fact that a new model is coming out this year. The invoice for the car was $40,570 with the MSRP being $45,559. I hope this helps someone else and thanks all for your responses.

In June, I bought my 2004 GS300 for an out the door price of $44327.58.
It has the NAV, Mark Levinson System, Black PEarl Emblems, etc. Basically, all of the options except for the spoiler.
What I did was I called several Lexus dealerships and made them compete for my business.
I called and asked, " I will pay in cash, today, now, a check in your hands, BUT HOW MUCH UNDER INVOICE?"
I think I got mine for $500 under invoice.

Thanks for that advise. I'll probably wait 'til late next month and go down south to buy. Why is it that Longo can make those deals that dealerships in No. Cal can't make? The savings from buying down there must be significant if folks are willing to make the trip. I'll never understand the car buying business. Thanks again. Doc

Hi there
What color and options are you looking for?
I actually wanted a Blue Onyx with Black Leather GS430 or a GS300.
But all dealers told me that there is not a single 2004 Blue Onyx with Black LEather in the entire country.
Good luck.

My Gs300
Color is a non factor for me. I would not want gold but any other color is fine. The car I want has a MSRP of about $45,600. That has the Navigation system , audio upgrade, heated seats and lexus memory sustem. Lexus want about $1000 more than I willing to spend at this time. I can wait a while though. I may try to negotiate in So. Cal. where people on this thread have told me. Longo in El Monte may be willing to do better? Can't hurt to try.

My advice would be to wait for the 05 production. There will be a short 05 production and thats where the deals will be. If I were you I would see what they can do for a GS430. All I can tell you is I had a bought a 2002 GS300 and the msrp was 41 something and I paid 37,800. Those prices do seem high that you were given. But like I said the 05 production will hit 2 week in Sept.

Hi there
The pressure is on the dealers because they need to get rid of the 04s.
Call several dealerships and make them compete for your business.
Just say, "How much under invoice can you give me?"
If they say no, just hang up.
Good luck.
