I have Sirius in the console box powered by the 12V outlet in there. I ran the antenna to the back deck under the door trim and beside the seat. I am using FM modulation. It's ok. I have a dent in my roof from a golf ball or something that I may use the antenna to cover as it's right in the center about 6 inches from the back window. I don't like the fact that I have to open the console to change stations, but my receiver is too big for ashtray mounting and I didn't want to cut anything.

I can take pictures, but you can probably imagine what it all looks like.

I don't know the model number off the top of my head. It's one of the bigger one's made by Clarion.

AUGuy21,

How is your Sirius system hardwired to the factory system? I am looking to do a similar install with the Sirius Starbase system and I am not sure how to hardwire ( I don't really like the idea of the FM modulator). I have a 99 gs300 with non nav system. Thanks

Gregor,

I have an FM Modulator hard wired. I used wire-taps and connected three wires to the accessory power, regular power, and something else I forget. I found one way to hardwire without an FM Modulator. This guy sent me hand drawn directions (he was an electrical engineer), but it would have been much too complicated and time consuming. He had tapped into the AM wire so that when you push it twice, it activates a relay. Then, he used blocking capacitors. It was way too complicated and he believed he wasn't getting any better sound than an FM Modulator. I can't find the diagrams, but here is the thread I found back at us.lexusownersclub.com

Mine....

Roady XT. Runs very cool and sounds great. Not bad for $50. (although not as slick as the ash tray install! The Roady is just a touch bigger than the ashtray )
Antenna is on the trunk.
