Glad you love it, I am sure it was just what the GS needed.

Question, you are running a 275/40-19? Thats a pretty large tire, any pictures? Do you rub?

I imagine it's more even wear. I think the LSD would let you keep tires longer because without too much throttle you can pretty much always hookup, even with worn tires.

Chris - congrats! I had the 2800 TC first (before getting the Supra LSD) and LOVED the difference. I agree it's exactly what the GS needed. As far as highway cruising, yes, the stall speed won't change cruising rpms at all because the converter is locked up at that point (input=output).

You said you have 275/40-19 - that's a tall tire, you sure you don't mean 275/35-19? 'Normal' height for 19s is 275/30-19. I have 245/40-19 and 275/35-19 the usual 'fat' setup.

Anyway, JUMP on the chance to get the Supra LSD if you find one because with the TC your VSC is more likely to kick in too, and the Supra LSD all but eliminates that. If you think low speed turns are fun now...!

(2) how much does one of these torque converters cost installed?

Answers:

(1) Best explanation: http://www.converter.com/q1.htm

(2) New Precision Industries Dragon Torque converter about $700-800, labor to install by a pro about $400-600. Also figure on the cost of a good trans oil cooler about $50 or so.

Without the LSD, if you try to exit the trun with a little throttle, you'll spin the outer wheel like crazy. With the LSD, you'll be able to exit the corner w/o any wheel spin. But if you drive your GS like old ladies and never pushing it at corners, you probably do NOT need the LSD at all

Good point, except it is the inside tire that spins in the turn not the outside one.
Also, the main problem I had was not so much spinning the inside tire, but the VSC kicking in and cutting power -which is what it's supposed to do. But yeah, with VSC turned OFF, then you will roast your rear tires trying to power out of the turns.
That's where the LSD allows you to really rocket out of the turn (and save your tires!).
