Wow, that is very fast!!!

Mapquest said it will take me 13 hours and 44 minutes from New York City to Wisconsin.
Let's see if I can make it in 12 hours.

What are the speed limits on the rural motorways in the various European countries?

most European countries have a speed highway limit of approx. 120 - 130kph, which is approx. 75 - 81 mph.

Probably a picture of Richie's facial expression at that speed would be very interesting as well

Crazy idea if you ask me.
This is Finland, where the government tries to assure that everyone is fined according their income.
They believe that rich people don't care about a few hundred dollars fine, so to make sure that they are hit as well they need to pay more ...

In Germany, the authorities thinks (and they are right ), that it is plain stupid to ran out of gas.
There are plenty of gas stations and these are well documented.

Also, running out of gas is also very dangerous if you are driving fast ....

Germany is no longer the "Car Heaven" as it was 10 years ago.
Congestion on the autobahns is high (that's why Richie could only try this on Sunday), and due the lesser economic conditions, less tax money can be spent on the highway maintenance.

Especially after the summer holidays, lots of highways need to be repaired, causing lots of jams (and regulating the speed limit to less than 80mph).

Also, just ask Richie how much his test costs in terms of gasoline ... no more car heaven in Germany

But in Holland we still have a lot of parts where we can't go faster then 80-100km/h.
