I have a 98 GS400 and continue to have a problem with my emergency brake light. When I back out of my driveway, which is flat, about 20% of the time, the light comes on and the car chimes. I never put on the emergency brake in my garage. I read about the possibility that adding more brake fluid can help, but it did not. Does anyone have any ideas.

could it be the emergency brake system loose in the back?

it doesn't use the brake caliper, it acts like the drum brakes

I will bring it to my mechanic and have him look it. I wanted to find out if there was anything else I could have him look at particularly. I know everyone here knows a lot more about my car since you have torn them apart and rebuilt them.
