Default 2001 Gs 430

Hello all,

This is my first and hope not my last post. I am a proud owner of a 2001 GS 430. I purchased $35,000. The kicker is, it only had 11,000 miles on it. It smells like a brand new car. The under carriage still have parts stickers on it. I hope it was a good price. Checking local listings I see that I have possibly saved between 3 to 10,000 dollars. And it was loaded with navigation and Mark Levison system. But I am glad that a quality forum exist such as this one. Question: The Mark Levison doesn't seem to have a good bass response is that the way is suppose to sound. My fiacee' MB CLK, booms with bass. So far not impressed with the system. Suggestions? I think I will replace the Sub with a aftermarket one. And of course add some 18's to replace the 17s. I haven't decided but I don't want nothing garish or gaudy, Ie Chromed. Maybe a simple fat lipped mesh wheels. My lex is the blackcherry with black leather interior. Very rare I have found. Oh another question. how many GS 430 do lexus produce a year??? Okay that's it. Take care all.

Welcome to Clublexus. ML systems are really about clarity and not hard bass. Not sure if you replace the ML sub but I am sure an aftermarket shop can figure it out.
11k is low miles, sounds like a solid price.
Black cherry with black leather is rare.
GS 430s were produced about 150-200 cars sold a month. So not that many a year.
Check the gallery to get an idea of wheels on your Lex. Here is a nice pic of your color.

check the audio settings...push the audio button and then go through the menus. sometimes if you turn on the radio and the volume is too high it'll go into "limp" mode until you restart the car to reset it, but the bass may just be way down

Welcome to the site, great car. Keep looking at the gallery and forum posts. Almost all the GS's have 19 or 20's on them. In my opinion, 18's are too small. It's all personal taste though. Good luck.
