Has anyone ran a stock 430 against a stock 400. I know by my seat of pants test that to me the 430 pulls harder.
The Lexus website,however, says GS400 runs 14.3 quarter mi and gs430 run 14.5.

I know the 430 has the totally computer controlled throttle-Does that effect max power output?

the gs430 has more tq, but it's also a bit heavier. the time is so close i call them the same fast

I think they are only 30 or 40lbs apart

i believe the 430 is .1 sec faster on the 0-60

umm, dunno, is it that accurate? coz' even 98 and 99 i already saw different time?

If I'm not mistaken, the fastest published time for 0-60 was 5.7 from a 1998 GS400.
Conversely. the fastest published time in the 1/4 mile was a GS430 @ 13.9.

I think it will come down to car to car differences ( one may be built on a "good day" etc.) , regardless of whether it's a 400 or a 430.

Edit; I just remembered - Edmunds did get a 5.4 0-60 out of a 1998 GS400, but I think the former figure is more representative of the norm.
