Talking It's Official- Got my first car!

Well after about 3 months of searching for new and used cars it was narrowed down to these:
New: Mazda 3s 5 door, Scion TC, Acura RSX

Used: 2003 Honda Accord Coupe V6 EX with all options, 1999 Lexus GS400

I am now happy to say I am the first time owner of a Lexus GS400, although I can't drive it anywhere except for the neighborhood since the DMV is closed on weekends.

1999 Pearl White Lexus GS400

Congrats. That's quite a "first" car to get. It will be hard for the next one to live up to it.

Jeez kid, I got a Camry when I turned 16. You're so lucky!

Be careful though! I don't want to sound like someone's father, but I'm 17 and have had my license for a year now and I have done some things I regret. I've driven too fast in the rain, taken corners too quick, gunned it to pass someone in a merge when I should have slowed down, passed when I barely made it without a head on collision, ect. and it's at those times when I learn why my parents bought me a car with 133HP. If I had much more than that, I'm sure I'd be dead and I mean that. Speed and performance are an addictive thing, so be careful. With an engine like that I would be tempted to drive like a maniac (and trust me I would), but please be safe! The adrenaline rush is awesome, but just make sure you're making the right choice everytime you get behind the wheel.

Sorry for the rant!

Congrats. You gave up selections of all newer model cars and picked the oldest but most powerful car.

You have made the right choice. Now let the mods start

Congradulations, and to mplexus: Agreed. 19 here, did this when I was 17 to my eclipse spyder turbo :

Took a s-turn too fast and lost control skidding sideways into a huge georgia pine. If the impact was a few feet closer to the front of the car it could have turned out quite different.. i got lucky

usmanj - congrats on getting a GS400 as your first car, that's totally amazing. I didn't own a car until I was 21 and that was a 1983 Honda Prelude (about 100HP I think!).

I can't stress enough how careful you're going to have to be. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you go to some kind of driving course. Also, the stock GS400 has more engine than suspension in my opinion, so you can easily get out of control, so BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

Zac Lux...what a small, small world! This is Michael Pannone from your marketing class last year with Mrs. Moore. I thought the car in your sig looked familiar, then I saw the parking sticker and thought

used to have a Mitsu Spyder + Lives in ATL+ Black SC+ 19yrs old =Zac Lux. I looked at your cardomain site, and sure enough, it's you.

Small World...

If you don't remember me, this otta help:

Wow, what a 1st car to have! Did you pay for it yourself?

I hope you have driven lesser cars so that you can fully appreciate this remarkable machine. As others have said, be careful and don't kill yourself. This is a FAST car and you don't have enough driving experience to explore its potential. I know it tempting, but you don't want to crash this thing.

Sorry to preach.
Congratulations!

Quite the present.

Be careful. I'm 19 and utterly demolished my first car when I was 17. Thank god it was a '93 Lexus or else I may not be sitting here today.

Please do not make the same mistake I did and take things slow and easy.
