I tried searching and the DIY 01 tail swap link that I found comes up as a dead link.
Anyone have a live DIY link for me, or care to post some instructions or just tell me if I'm getting in too deep. I am getting my tails today and hopefully will be installing them if the rain ever stops.
I know on my previous 03 maxima, the tails were held in with glue and you had to heat them first to loosen this glue
Thanks

like T.L.W. said its just 4 total bolts 2 take out....2 either 8mm or 10mm nuts inside behind the trunk panel and take off the 2 clips on the outside blk part of the lens and its 2 10mm bolts there...u 1st have 2 take the trunk panel apart which is just clipsthat hold it in....once u start 2 take things apart u'll c how easy it is...good luck

the install is a piece of cake the bolts are the easy part but make sure you have a very good tight fitting phillips head to remove the 2 screws. when you open the trunk lid you will see next to the tail lights 2 plastic tabs to remove revealing the screws.. they tend to be in there real tight , mine was frozen in there and even though i used a very good phillips head with a fresh strong point the head stripped so i had to drill out the bolt ..
good luck with your next mod

you should have used a 10mm socket would have been much easier and no chance of stripping

If there is a bolt with a phillips or flathead head, I always try to use a socket if I can as the heads tend to strip very quickly
once again, thanx guys
