Blinker mod.....only posted because someone asked about it in another thread.....
Ordered Blinker housings from Benz $175 each =
$350
Painted/ molded/ installed / $300
TOTAL = $650 AWESOME JOB
and EVERYONE LOVES THEM!!!!!
Better than side marker lights.
Don't regret it one bit......I goto the city and STUNT on EVERY car I see

Do the Mercedes mirrors have the same options as the Lexus, i.e. are they heated, electrochromatic, etc. ? I guess what I'm asking is- do you give anything up by installing the new mirrors just to get the blinkers ? Thanks.

I don't think he installed the whole mirrors, just the blinkers - he had them removed from the Benz housing and molded into the Lexus ones keeping the same mirror features.

I have been asking for these benz blinkers all over this site, thanks AtlBrave !

I had previously asked Mercedes for the 2000 S500 turn signals housings and they said they were $150 each just last week, so maybe those would be better for us?

Do you guys know any wholesale mercedes parts dealers like steve ganz is for lexus/toyota?

Also, who would do this install? just any body shop? where did you get it done AltBrave?

And where did you get your roof spoiler? Is there any other benefit to it other than looks? How much did it cost and how much to get it painted/installed?

I had to use the 2001 E Class Blinkers....looking at the S class and CLK with the longer bulb and rubber in the back It WOULD NOT FIT with the lexus motor/heater in the inside.......Look at the 3rd picture from the top and you'll see what I'm talking about. I wanted the S class also but It is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to fit with the ROOM that you have in the housing. That light is about 3-4 inches long and would brush up against the lexus mirror and then you have the problem of CUTTING the lexus mirror to make that light FIT EXACTLY!!!! Pretty hard but could be done but I really don't think the room is there.

Now look at the 1st and 2nd picture......Look all the way to the left of Lexus mirror that connects to the car and look at the end of the 2nd picture of the benz pic.....the 2 ends are TOTALLY DIFFERENT / also the shape and size are totally different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You lose NO fuctionaility of the mirror at all, EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!!

You have to look VERY CAREFULLY at the pics.....he had to cut the benz mirror and cut the lexus mirror and mold the 2 together around the light area.......The 2 mirrors are NOT the same shape, thats why you have to cut/mold and a pretty good point to meet the needs of lexus mirror......my man in ATL did an AWESOME JOB.....he wanted $350 but he Painted/Molded/Installed for $250 because it took him almost 2 MONTHS to do......(that was because he had other things to do and he is a BS guy) otherwise I think any body shop could do in 2-4 days. My paint matches PERFECTLY, no runs, no scratches, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!!!!!!!! He did a GREAT job it just took him to long!

Roof Spoiler, I think ordered from ATL for cheap and got it painted for $50 bucks I think......I know the guy good. Everything helps if you know someone.

is there any way I can order one from ya that I can just slap on my GS? WE have crappy bodyshops here on guam and I wouldn't trust them with doing anything to my GS.

hey you GS owners there was one GS with those blinker mirrors at the So Cal meet. I think his name was Hiro and he had them on his GS and was even selling a pair . I did not talk to this guy but the guys from Teamlexstacy (disc108,GlobeCLK,Lexdriver18, and GSintensive) might know something more about those mirrors and Hiro if that was the guys name.
