its official... im 16.. turning 17 in about a month and i am getting a GS430 from one of your very own CL members.. PaulGS430... if you recall PaulGS430 getting his quest kit, his younger cousin was in the background of one of the pictures.... thats me!

all the necessary steps are being taken and soon enough i will be driving my very own GS430 as my very own first car... i drove my parents nissan pathfinder around for about 8 months... great car... but it aint a lexus...

Congrats on the car man, seems like a lot more young bucks are gettin a GS for their first car now. Wished i got one as my first car but i'm happy with what i got now, but i can't drive it

 

Congratulations and PLEASE be careful. At an age when most individuals fantasize about automobiles like the GS430, you've got the real deal! You're going to be in control of a very fine and powerful automobile.

 

Why change to a GS3, I guess you're going turbo? Also, did your PI TC cause any CEL with the 430?

 

Speaking of PI TC, Paul, I seem to remember something about the GS3 using a different unit than the one that goes in the GS4. Isn't that right? Anybody remember for sure, or else I'll just go on PI's website and check.

 

Yup, just checked; the 6 cylinder models (IS300,GS300 and SC300) all take the same TC and its DIFFERENT than the one that goes on the 8 cylinder models. Soo... either the kid gets a TC too or there is gonna be a used TC for sale in classifieds soon. I still can't imagine a 17 year old drivin' a GS430 as his first car. Odds are that thing is gonna end up around a tree or in a ditch. My first car was a 1960 Triumph TR3 that cost about $700. Before that I had a couple motorcycles.

 

haha.. i see all the people are worried about me being in the cockpit of such a fine car.. not too worry too much.. the cars going to have the veilside kit on the car when i get it... the Quest is going to be taken off and transferred to the GS3. But im eventually thinking of selling the veilside (if i can) and getting something else on the car... not sure exactly yet what kit i would want to replace it with... but while the veilside is on the car... i need to take care of the kit and keep it in mint condition... im gonna granny drive the GS430 for most of the time... and during the winter... im going to use the pathfinder again...

so im going to be driving the car only to school... and a couple of exceptions here inbetween like the gym and other silly things... gotta get used to the car before i can actually get comfortable enough to drive it without having any worries... but rest assure... GRANNY DRIVE
