I just bought my first Lexus(93 GS) all I could afford. The car comes with 215/60 16s. I want to run a 17in chrome wheel. I want to keep a good ride, and keep it quiet, performance is not that important. does going to a taller tire screw up the computer or anything else, besides the speedo? I was told to got with 225/50/17, I wanted to go with a 225/55/17, for a little taller side wall. It is about 7/10ths taller than the 50 series tire.

Thanks
Mike

Lightbulb going taller

couple things here:

1.availablity and popularity of the tyre size,

2.taller tyre sometimes can damage suspension system in the long run

i had a 93gs300 for 5 years, very reliable and classy looking...i would go for the 225/50/17
