Default FRP whats the deal?

so I've been noticing quite a few oversea's kits are now being made out of FRP. I've seen these kits in person and felt them and to be honest I love how it feels. Alot more sturdy then PolyUrethane..... not flimsy and seems bendable where I feel confident in hitting it and not worrying about a crack. Plus they are light as hell!!!

my concern is modifying the kits. I dont care what bodykit you buy..... there's always some small minor detail that will need some modification to make perfect. In many cases much work has to be done to the kit to make it fit perfectly. Is FRP easy to work on? whats the deal with em?

Japanese companies ahve been using FRP for quite some time now. I have always like FRP over pure fiberglass and polyurethane. FRP gives enough flex and is still pretty damn strong. I drive daily w/ the Junction Produce bumper and I know its had its share of hits.

As for reparing FRP? I am pretty sure its like working on pure fiberglass.

with the fitment of my body kit, there were no issues what so ever. The bumper went on like a champ, and so did the door caps. If anyone has seen my GS in person, my side skirts and door caps line up like they were OEM...

The new Carson Tuned bodykit for the IS300 is made of FRP. Very strong and lightweight. Awesome stuff!

There was actually a more in depth thread about FRP about a year ago. Maybe a search will yield even more info on this topic. I know that most of the top shelf JDM companies use it (Junction, Auto Couture, etc).

Good luck
