Engine Cover

Just a quick question, do I really need the engine cover under the hood?

Nope, tt's just there to look pretty.

One time at the dealer. A salesman was showing this couple the engine bay of a GX. The woman peers in and says "What a beautiful engine". I was on the fender side and thought "really" (hadn't made it to the engine inspection yet) and looked in. All I saw was a silver engine cover and just smiled.
