Cadd -- I run my 17s at 30 (cold). The probably heat up to 32 when hot. I know it's a little low, but I prefer the cushy ride. I can personally attest to the camber problem. My car had been pulling relatively hard to the right. The guys at Lexus noticed some uneven wear on the inside of the front left tire. I rotated the tires front to back and it corrected the problem. However, I expect that I'll have to deal with the same problem over time with the tires that are on the front now. Hope this helps.

P.S.: When did you finally pick up the 17s? I know you had been looking for quite some time. Did you go with chrome or non?

Hey e-man,

I picked up the chrome set less than a month ago from a CL member. However, I ran into minor issues. One tire had a nail which was leaking very very slowly and another wheel had a valve problem that kept on leaking.

I finally got them fixed and mounted them about 2 weeks ago.

That's too bad you had those issues. Glad to hear you got it taken care of. The nail is no big deal, but the leaking issue is a little more substantive. I assume the person you bought them from didn't know about the problems, right?

How do you like the ride of the 17s?

I don't think the seller knew about these issues. He is very honest. If he knew about them, he would have told me. It could have been dangerous.

I mounted them on and rode on them for a few hours. When I got in again to drive home, I realized that it felt funny. I came out and checked the pressure. It dropped to 25psi. I decided to check all 4 tires. Everything was good execpt for the last one. After I inserted the tire tester, the valve started leaking like there's no tomorrow. Luckily, I had my 16" wheels in the trunk and changed it on the side road. I also had a portable 12V air compressor so I pumped up the wheel with the nail.

Luckily, I wasn't on the freeway going somewhere.

I like the 17" ride. It's definitely more stiffer and sportier than the 16s. The car feels more responsive now. However, there are times after a tiring day at work, that I would prefer a nice cushy ride home (on the broken streets of Brooklyn.....and that's the only time I miss the 16s).

Also, the road noise is a bit louder with the 17s.

So, now I have 2 sets of 16s sitting in my basement. I have to get rid of a set. Taking up too much space.

i never buy anything that just came out new especially the new GS cause i think its all new design ground up.Lexus or not 3 to 4 years is enough time for them to work out all design problems.Don't take anything less then the best.Enjoy what you got which is nothing more then the best, and hook it up pimp statues.

Mine are stock 17" chrome rims and the door jam recommends 33psi, I believe. I had 35 psi but after reading the instruction I brought them down to 33psi cold pressure.

Default Psi?

Running S03s in 245/45ZR17 at 36 psi. Seem to get the best tire wear and best gas mileage at this setting.(max is 44 psi, I think)
Will
