Also, just a heads up, over time some chrome wheels have a tendency to leak air. One of my stock 16's leaks about 1-2 pounds every week. Multiple friends have also told me that they have similar issues with chrome wheels.

You guys need to check two things.

1-Make sure there are no small leaks in the tire or valve stem. Dunk the whole tire/wheel in a tub of water and watch for bubbles.

2-Make sure the area of the rim where the bead of the tire seals is not corroded or have peeling chrome from a bad chrome job.

Also, I have had my chrome wheels since I bought the car in '98, no leaks to speak of. The quality of the chrome is not in question because it came from the factory like that. You can tell if the car came with chrome wheels from the factory by checking to see if the spare is also chrome. Unless they also chromed out the spare. Not likely though.

32 PSI. I read somewhere that you get better gas mileage if you put in the recommended PSI.

33-34 cold psi, i keep them as close as possible to 32, however i seem to like it just a stitch higher.. no real reason. But in Minnesota it could be 40 degrees oneday, and less than 10 another.. After working at a Lexus dealer, it is clear the side effects of under and over inflated tires. There is a reason why Toyota has set the psi there is because the reasearch showed the tires were not last as long if over 35 psi, fuel mileage increase very little, but tires would only last 20 thousans miles or less. Everyone knows your tires psi increases as ythe tires heats up... For every 10 degrees increase/decrease, you will either gain/lose 1psi.

There is no difference in the chrome vs. silver... but the reason why the tires leak is because the chrome after years of mounting and dismounting, will actually corrode from things like salt and road grime getting in there. It's an easy fix, just say something to the service writer at your next visit to the dealership. All it is is taking a die-grinder the the inside lip of the wheel to remove any corrotion and making the bead of the tire seat properly, and that is why some experience this and some done...

I love my wheels, I use Potenza RE960AS 245/35R17 summer, perelli p-zeros winters, I just wish i didn't have to balance them every 5k or 10k miles, for some reason they don't like to do 150, and stay balanced forever...

I ran 34-35 psi on 235/45ZR17's and the middle tread of my tires, especially rears, wore out quicker than the outsides... Seems like it might be due to overinflation..?
