Default ATF oil change

Okay, here's the deal. Over the weekend, while I was doing the oil change, I decided to change out the ATF oil as well. Anyway, I follow the steps on http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/ , which by the way, it's a great web site. I went down to the Toyota dealership picked up some type I-V oil, and the parts guy told me i will need 4 quarts. I told him I only need 2, because that's what it said on the web site, and owner's manual said it takes 1.9L, which i have no idea how many quarts 1.9L =??? Anyway, I picked up 3 just to be safe.

So, after I drained all the oil, put 2 quarts of the ATF oil in, started the car, shifted the gears, everything seems okay. I checked the stick, and it's right between old and hot. So, I thought I did pretty well. Went inside, an hour later, I wanted run to the store very quick, i turned car on, I got this check engine light came on, then, I shifted the gears, the car just jerk very bad each gear I try to shifted to.

Anyway, after pissed off for like 10 minutes, I decided to add more ATF oil, after I added another quart of the oil, the car shifted fine, but the check engine light was still on. I went down to the dealership again, get another quart of oil, added, and check engine went away and everything it's fine.

Sorry for the length post, i just want to know if anyone had this problem before. As far as checking the oil level by using the stick, I don't fine it's actual at me, at least me for.

Default

1Q = .946L

You shouldn't be putting in more than you are taking out. When I did mine, took out 2Q and put back in 2Q. The spec from the manual is 2L or 2.1Q.
