Default Broke the 100K marker today :(

Today i realize i was going to break the 100K marker on my GS4. I feel bad because, i've had the car going on 2 years, and i doubled the mileage. i bought it with 46K and in 2 years, i've averaged 32K a year. Now, traveling an hour and a half from one end of the state to the next 3 times a week, this may not be bad, but i feel like i should retire my gs now that i've broken that mile marker! For some reason, it really does make me feel horrible. Maybe i love my car too much....Nah! that can't be it! lol.

I am due for my 90K service, and as you can see, i missed it by 10k miles, but no, i haven't had a single problem with my car yet, except i can't stop modding it. This damn bug won't go away! lol. But seriously, i haven't had a single problem yet with my car.

If your going to have your timing belt changed, i would actually order it through a Toyota Dealership, because it will be cheaper that way. I don't know any cheap place to get it checked. I live by a Lexus Dealership (within 10 min.) so i could just take a rid up and ask. Don't know why my 90k service isn't done yet!

When I had my GS4, I retired it at 156,xxx miles and still ran like new.. I abused the living hell out of it.. Now my bro-in-law has around 189,xxx and still running like new.

D-man,

i don't really think it's about the running issue for me. I know, if taken care of, it will last almost forever! I just think it was approaching that 100k marker, that got me....the whole triple digit thing!

yeah man, I know exactly how you feel... Its the mentality that you drive a 100k+. Just be glad to know that the 2nd gen GS wont go outta style anytime soon and its more reliable (in most cases) than a MB or BMW.

Try our forum sponsors L-tunedparts.com and Lexus-parts.com for items like these too. If you don't see them on their websites, they have toll free numbers.

heh heh, that's what I was gonna say. To me, it's a general rule of thumb to replace the timing belt and water pump on pretty much ANY vehicle at 100K.
