is there a way to disable the DRL in a 1999 GS Canadian Model ?

haha the only way i can do it without modifying anything is NOT to release my foot brake ... but that's not a smart thing to do

anyone know please tell me ... really appreciate it

I'm going to get the DRLs turned off after I take delivery of my GS430.

This is a quote from an e-mail from my dealer
"The drl can be disconnnected through service only after you have taken delivery of car with removing some wiring. You will have to pay 1/2 to a full hour of labor"

One major difference -- DRLs are not required by law in Georgia so you may have a legal issue, not a technical one, to deal with if you try to go thru a dealer. My guess is you need to make friends with a Lexus tech.

by the way, do they canadian models have headlamp washers on them too?

I have never really understood the purpose of those, what would they do? And why does Canada have it but not US?

Instead of disabling DRL why not change the bulbs to xenon bulbs. If you are interested i know a place in Richmond B.C where you can buy them cheap.

it's way easier to change the light bulbs on a ES than a GS...

**** so many cables and the back of the DRL has a cover on it with screws !

im all confused by it

How about pulling the DRL fuses. Will that work?

I believe that pulling the fuses will cause a warning light on the dash, just like pulling the bulbs will do.
