I've been struggling with going to 18" versus 19" wheels. I don't have the huevos to go 20", so I've been going back and forth on 18/19's. Anybody have any thoughts? What about going to an 18" in front and 19" on the rear, or is that dumb? What's been your experience?

I'm having that same EXACT PROBLEM. I would LOVE to get dubs but they aren't practical for me!

It seems like the 19's would LOOK better but the 18's have a better ride! It's a toss up, looks over performance/comfort?!!??!?!

What are the pros/cons of 18's?
What are the pros/cons of 19's?

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

I mean, if you have 17's on now really no point of going to 18's because there isn't that much of a difference. Go at least 2 plus sizes would be worth the money in terms of looks.
Like 16-18, 17-19, 18-20.

Default 18" vs. 19"

Bolas, well okay, either way; still looking for advice. Miguel, you went 18", did you consider 19" or 20"? I'm still contemplating 18's or 19's. Leaning more towards 19's as Dieselman63 said, "no use going 18's. From members cars I've seen, 18's look good if they are shiny and no bodykit. 19's work better with bodykit or the car needs to be slammed. 20's look way big unless the car has a bodykit and is slammed. Just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I have a few questions about 19's. Like, I hear that if you have 20's you cant ride on them for a long time (drive for hours and hours on a road trip or something) because the tires heat up a LOT and the sidewall is so thin, that they will blow!! ........

Will 19's have that problem??

How long do tires last for 19" rims??

How is the ride??

Will I incur any suspension problems with 19's like I would with 20's??

Anyone who is running 19's and has some advice or suggestions, I would love to hear them!!

Is there any website that I can read up on all the pro/cons of 18-20" rims??

I would go with 19" rims 20" rims are not practical they are not for every day driving I have 18" rims on mine and I have no problems at all I also live in seattle which is slightly hilly so I do bottom out some times since I lowered my car ( L-tuned) so you have to be carfull with that but i have fairly beefy tyres 245/45 18x8.5"s all around so I do have to be carful in some area's it all depends on where you live and how the roads are built if you live in a fairly nice area with decent roads and is somewhat flat then I suggest you go with 19" rims there big enough and they dont ride as harsh as 20's but if you live in a hilly area with crappy roads then go with 18"s there a better ride and they save you money on tyres in the long run.

If you are going to go with 19's, the best rims, in my opinion, that look great on the GS, is the Enkei Aegis. They are basically a mesh wheel with a chrome lip. You can get it all chrome, or silver with a chrome lip. Depends on what will look good on the color of your car, and your personal opinion. Check it out on the enkei website, the wheels look great. Better yet, here is a pic in chrome for you. I saw it on a black GS400 with the H&R suspension in 19's and the car looked incredible. Hope you like them.

Hi David,

I didn't consider 19" because Rays didn't make the TE37s any bigger than 18".

Thanks for all the input, think I'm going 19." I notice that the tire selection really dwindles down going to 19's, but my brother got me a great deal on 19" Nittos. I did some Photoshop pictures of my car with 18's & 19's, and the 19's looked great with the bodykit. I'm running a Sportline front with Millen sides; & the car looked mean with 19's. I'll bet the 19" Nittos ride better than the junk (Bridgestone RE030's) that I have right now! Thanks again.

David,

Can you post some pics of your car on 19's?? I have been looking and can't find ANYONE who has pics of their car on 19's. It's either 18's or 20's. I would also like to see your bodykit. I was going to go with the L-Sportline Front w/ RMM sides....

If you can, please post some pics for me... Thanks!!
